Our Process

Elmes Packaging specializes in custom, thin-gauge thermoformed packaging.

We specialize in custom, thin-gauge thermoformed packaging. The process involves heating a thin sheet of plastic until it becomes pliable, then forming it over a mold to create precise, durable, and lightweight packaging. The finished product offers a reliable and efficient solution for the storage, display, and transport of products for almost every industry. We understand that custom products require custom packaging, so we work with you from initial conversations and prototyping to final product development and delivery.

Unlike our competitors, there is no cost associated with your thermoforming project until a prototype or sample is provided, and we have a low order threshold. Additionally, the efficiency of our process allows us to deliver products more quickly and cost-effectively.

The Elmes Packaging Approach

We listen to our customers to develop a thorough assessment of thermoforming project expectations, and strive to build long-term partnerships by exceeding those expectations.

Customer Inquiry

After we receive your request, an Elmes Packaging Account Manager will reach out to you within one business day. All requests are documented to ensure the necessary information is properly recorded.

Initial Assessment

An Account Manager will conduct a virtual or in-person meeting with you to develop a thorough understanding of your requirements. Based on the information gathered, the Account Manager will conduct an initial assessment to determine how we can meet your needs.

Prototype Tooling

At this stage, we will obtain the design, or create one if it’s not available. Once the design is approved, we will produce a prototype tool to generate a working sample for validation and testing. In most cases, we will have the prototype ready within 2-3 weeks.

Production Tooling

Once the samples are approved, we will proceed to build the full set of production tooling. After the tooling is complete, we will be ready to commence production.

Finalize Contract

A contract will be prepared outlining all terms and conditions, reviewed by all necessary individuals, and signed to formalize the agreement for your thermoformed product.

Fulfillment

All terms within the contract are fulfilled and you receive your thermoformed products designed to your exact specification. We have been able to go from prototyping to delivery of the complete order in as little as five weeks.
